Katy Responds announced March 4 that Sasha Cox will assume the role of Chief Executive Officer on March 4, 2026, following the retirement of CEO Ron Peters. This transition reflects a long-planned leadership succession designed to ensure the continued strength and mission of the organization, according to its press release.
Cox brings more than ten years of nonprofit experience in critical and disaster home repair. Known for her thoughtful leadership, servant heart, and enduring commitment to vulnerable homeowners, she has consistently built strong community partnerships and driven meaningful impact. Her vision and dedication position Katy Responds to continue expanding its reach across Fort Bend, Waller, and West Harris Counties. “The organization believes this transition reflects God’s faithful provision and continued calling to serve families in need,” the press release said.
Ron Peters has faithfully led Katy Responds for six years, guiding the organization through growth, expanded partnerships, and increased community impact. He will remain actively involved as a member of the Board of Directors and as a volunteer.
“It has been one of the greatest honors of my life to serve this mission and community,” said Peters. “I am confident in Sasha’s leadership and excited to continue supporting the organization in this next chapter.”
“I am honored to lead Katy Responds and continue serving families through critical home repair, mobility modifications through our ‘Age in Place’ initiative, and immediate/long-term disaster response,” said Cox. “This mission is deeply personal, and I am committed to leading with faith, compassion, and integrity.”
Katy Responds is a Christ-centered nonprofit dedicated to restoring safe and secure homes for vulnerable seniors and low-income families. Founded in response to Hurricane Harvey, the organization mobilizes volunteers and resources to restore homes, rebuild lives, and bring hope.
