Jeff Hajjar, owner of Fuzzy’s Pizza at 613 S. Mason in Katy, has been named to the board of advisors to Holocaust Museum Houston. He began serving his term on July 1.
Hajjar has previously hosted several fundraisers at his restaurant for the museum, which is located at 5401 Caroline in Houston, and which is dedicated to educating people about the Holocaust by remembering the six million Jews and other innocent victims who were lost and honoring the legacy of those who survived. The museum also hosts exhibitions on human rights and anti-bigotry. Opened in 1996, Holocaust Museum Houston is the fourth largest holocaust museum in the United States.
Born in Houston, with family roots in Damascus, Syria, Hajjar has supported several Jewish charities, especially in the wake of the Hamas attack in Israel on October 7, 2023. His restaurant has been vandalized in the wake of his support for Israel.
Hajjar’s next event at Fuzzy’s Pizza Katy will be on August 15, when he will host Katy’s inaugural community Shabbat in partnership with Congregation Shma Koleinu, with 18% of sales benefitting the Holocaust Museum Houston. Rabbi Scott Hausman-Weiss will offer the blessings during the ceremony.
