From concert halls and theater stages to art and dance studios, 272 Katy ISD seniors are taking their talents to the collegiate level after being recognized during the district’s annual fine arts signing celebrations.
Modeled after athletic signing days, the celebrations honor students who have committed to continuing their visual and performing arts education at colleges and universities across the nation. The signees represent a wide range of fine arts disciplines, including art, band, cheer, choir, dance, orchestra and theater, reflecting the strength and diversity of Katy ISD’s nationally recognized programs.
“These students have dedicated countless hours to refining their craft, performing at the highest level and representing Katy ISD with excellence,” Executive Director of Fine Arts Damon Archer said. “Their success is a testament to their talent, discipline and passion, as well as the unwavering support from their teachers, directors and families. We are excited to see the impact they will make as they continue their artistic journeys.”
Katy ISD’s fine arts programs consistently rank among the state’s best, providing students with opportunities to excel academically, creatively and competitively while preparing them for future success in higher education and beyond, a district spokesperson said in the May 15 press release.
