Royal Falcons headed to state soccer finals
The Royal Falcons soccer team is making history as the school heads for its first state championship battle in Georgetown on April 9. The Falcons clinched the state semifinals by defeating the Corpus Christi London Pirates 4=3 in overtime on April 3, after the Falcons won the 5 point shootout. It is only the second time in the district’s history that a Royal team has gone to state, according to an April 4 post on the district’s Facebook page. “We are so proud of you and cannot wait to take state next Thursday in Georgetown,” said the post.

The Royal Falcons were also recognized as ABC-13’s “Athlete of the Week” on April 3, as they headed into the semi-final game. Pictured is Eskary Rosas, a senior at Royal High School in Brookshire.
