The Fort Bend County Fair announced on September 11 that Texas Agricultural Commissioner Sid Miller will serve as the 2025 Parade Grand Marshal, officially kicking off the 89th annual Fort Bend County Fair on Friday, September 26.
An eighth-generation farmer and rancher, Sid Miller currently serves as the twelfth Commissioner of the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA). Born in De Leon, Comanche County, in September 1955, Commissioner Miller has devoted his life to advocating for Texas agriculture and rural communities. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Vocational Agricultural Education from Tarleton State University in Stephenville, graduating with honors. Commissioner Miller’s lifelong dedication to agriculture and his passion for supporting Texas farmers and ranchers make him an ideal fit to serve as this year’s Parade Grand Marshal, officials said.
The 2025 Kick-Off Parade marks the start of the Fair’s ten-day run from September 26 through October 5. This year’s parade theme is “Promoting Family, Youth and Agriculture,” honoring the Fair’s continued commitment to the community values of Fort Bend County.
The parade will begin promptly at 9 a.m. on Friday, September 26, starting from the Historic Court House at 301 Jackson in Richmond and proceeding west along Highway 90-A to Jennetta Street in Rosenberg. Parade-goers can expect a vibrant showcase featuring more than 200 entries, including classic cars, creative floats, and equestrian groups.
