“Hunger has no ears,’” so people have a difficult time hearing the Gospel when they are hungry,” say the organizers of the Katy Community Packathon.
A Packathon is a two-hour hands-on service opportunity for anyone ages 5 to 105.
“It is a truly rewarding event that will bring people together in a way the community has never seen before, according to organizers. Beyond the event, volunteers’ work will go beyond providing Feed the Hunger meals for the local community as well as at-risk children national and internationally.
The event – which involves packing meals for the hungry – will take place at the Faith West Gymnasium at 2255 Porter Road in Katy from February 19-21. Hours are 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday and Friday; 9 to 11 a.m., 12 to 2 p.m. and 3 to 5 p.m. on Saturday. Rates are $69 per individual, $830 for a half-station or $1675 for a full station.
Registration is now open at https://www.feedthehunger.orgkaty. For more information, please contact Regina Alexander at regina@feedthehunger.org.
