The Texas High School Coaches Association (THSCA) and Walmart announced the 2025-26 Academic All-State Teams for Football on December 8. The Academic All-State Award honors senior student-athletes who demonstrate exceptional commitment both in the classroom and in competition.

As one of THSCA’s most prestigious honors, this award recognizes students from fourteen different U.I.L. sports, who excel in three categories: GPA, class rank, and ACT/SAT performance.

To be eligible for nomination, an athlete must meet the following criteria:

· An athlete, student trainer or manager in good standing with the team

· Of good moral character

· A senior

· Have an overall grade point average of 92 or above

Honorees include seniors at nine of Katy ISD’s ten high school campuses as well as student athletes from Aristoi Classical Academy.

“These honorees represent the spirit of dedication, discipline, and determination that THSCA and Walmart work to encourage in students across the state,” the press release said.

The THSCA is proud to announce a new partnership with Walmart as the official sponsor of the THSCA Academic All-State Teams. The partnership between Walmart and THSCA underscores a shared commitment to education, leadership, and the lifelong impact of high school athletics. With Walmart’s support, the Academic All-State Teams award will continue to honor the outstanding achievements of our Texas student-athletes.
