Aristoi Classical Academy families, students and community members will gather Saturday, Sept. 19, for the third annual Griffin Virtue Run, a 5K run and walk benefiting Aristoi Athletics.

This year, the Aristoi Booster Club hopes to raise $35,000 for a new weight room for student-athletes at Aristoi’s Logic & Rhetoric campus at 5610 Morton Road in Katy.

The Virtue Run has grown significantly since it began in 2024. More than 550 people participated in last year’s event, helping raise approximately $28,000 for athletics. Proceeds from the inaugural Virtue Run helped Aristoi purchase an athletic van.

This year’s fundraiser follows another strong season for Aristoi Athletics. Aristoi earned its third consecutive Texas Charter School Academic & Athletic League Texas Cup Championship, finishing with a school-record 61 points. Aristoi student-athletes also brought home state championships in boys volleyball and girls flag football.

Aristoi Athletic Director Terry Boling believes competition teaches students perseverance, teamwork, responsibility and what it means to work toward something greater than themselves.

“At Aristoi, we believe education goes far beyond the classroom. As a classical school, we strive to educate the whole student, developing knowledge, character, discipline, and virtue,” Boling said.

The Griffin Virtue Run begins at 7 a.m. at Katy Beer Garden, 5345 E. Third in Katy, with registration opening at 6:30 a.m. Registration is $20 for adults and $10 for students in kindergarten through 12th grade. Each registered participant will receive a golf towel. Food and live music will also be part of the morning, and families are encouraged to come out and cheer on the runners and walkers.

Can’t make the run? Families and supporters can still help by donating or sharing the fundraiser with friends and family.

Packet pickup will be available at two Katy-area locations:

● Thursday, Sept. 17, 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Boardwalk Dental Studio, 25318 Kingsland Blvd., Katy

● Friday, Sept. 18, 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Good Times Running Co., 22764 Westheimer Pkwy., Suite 650, Katy
