Tompkins High School Head Coach Todd McVey was back on the field at Legacy Stadium in Katy on August 28 for the Falcons’ first game of the season. According to a story reported in late August in Covering Katy, Katy ISD had previously announced that McVey would not be coaching the game, following unsubstantiated rumors circulated online. However, the district found no evidence to confirm those rumors, the news outlet said. Tompkins defeated Cypress Ranch 32-27.
