SAN FELIPE, Texas — The Texas Historical Commission (THC) invites kids and families to celebrate the holiday season at San Felipe de Austin State Historic Site from 12–4 p.m. Saturday, December 13.
Aimed at history lovers and families alike, activities for Christmas at San Felipe de Austin include a short presentation on religion and reflections on the Christmas season in Mexican Texas; readings of “Legend of the Poinsettia” and poinsettia papercraft activities for kids; and refreshments at the outdoor kitchen in the Villa de Austin historic townsite exhibit.
Before the event, site staff invite the community to watch the San Felipe Holiday Parade, which begins at 10 a.m. in front of the San Felipe/Frydek Volunteer Fire Station.
