Grundfos breaks ground for new U.S. headquarters, opens new training academy

On June 24, Grundfos, a global leader in advanced pump solutions and water technologies, celebrated both the groundbreaking of its new U.S. headquarters and production expansion as well as the opening of the Grundfos Academy Americas, a new training and partner collaboration hub.

Located at 902 Koomey Road in Brookshire, the investment reinforces Grundfos’ commitment to strengthening U.S. manufacturing capacity while supporting customers across North America, officials said at the event. The new training academy, which officially opened with a ceremonial ribbon cutting, will train the next-gen workforce and drive collaboration with partners.

“The project advances the company’s long-term growth strategy in the region and reflects Houston’s role as a strategic hub for operations and talent,” a spokesperson said. In 2024, the company set a goal of doubling its capacity by 2030, officials said.

Officials also said that the expansion would provide additional jobs but did not give further specifics. The new administration building will be able to house 100 employees.

The new facility is built with sustainability in mind, including low water use, water redistribution, LED lighting and other features. “How we grow is just as important as the fact that we are growing,” officials said.

The training academy can accommodate up to 75 individuals and will be used for customized training modules of various length, including onboarding training as new hires as they learn the process of building pumps, said Ansell Sims, Country President USA for Grundfos.

Dignitaries in attendance included Brookshire Mayor Robert Richards, State Representative Stan Kitzman, former Katy Mayor Pro Tem Chris Harris, and representatives from the offices of State Senator Lois Kolkorst, U.S. Senator Ted Cruz, and Governor Greg Abbott and others. Many Grundfos officials from Denmark, where Grundfos is based, were also present, including Poul Due Jensen, company CEO, and EVPs Hamed Heyhat and Bent Jensen. Jesper Halter Sarensen, Ambassador of Denmark to the U.S., also spoke at the event.
