As families prepare for a new school year, something as simple as a new pair of socks or underwear can help a child start the school year with confidence.

Local nonprofit Clothed by Faith is asking the Katy community to help stock up on new children’s socks and underwear for its Back-to-School distributions.

“These everyday essentials are among our most requested items and are always needed,” an organization spokesperson said in a July 24 post on Facebook. “Every donation, big or small, helps ensure local children have the basics they need to head back to school feeling comfortable, confident, and ready to learn.”

Donations of new socks or underwear (still in the original unopened packaging) may be dropped off Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at either of Clothed by Faith’s locations:

· Katy: 802 Dominion Dr., Suite 500, Katy

· Deer Park, 438 E. 8th St., Deer Park
