Lone Star Band opens new concert season Oct. 4
The first concert of the Lone Star Band’s season will be held on October 4 at 4 p.m. at Holy Covenant United Methodist Church, 22111 Morton Road, Katy. The performance is titled “A Sound Harvest” and listeners will experience the rich colors and textures of autumn through a vibrant program that captures the spirit of the season. “A Sound Harvest” invites audiences to reflect on cherished memories and the beauty of change through evocative and engaging musical selections. Join the Lone Star Symphonic Band for an inspiring afternoon that sets the tone for a remarkable season. Noe Marmalejo, world class trumpeter and instructor of jazz studies at University of Houston, will be the featured soloist during this performance. It’s ‘National Night Out’ with Katy PD on Oct. 6
National Night Out is all about YOU — the Katy community. It’s a chance for families, neighbors, and local businesses to come together, meet the officers from the Katy Police Department who protect and serve the Katy community every day, and to get to know the people behind the badge. The event at Katy City Park, 5720 Franz Road in Katy, will be held October 6 from 5 to 8 p.m. and is completely free. That means free dinner, free dessert, and free family fun including games and giveaways. See police vehicles and equipment, greet the K-9s and meet the officers.
And…it’s ‘National Night Out’ in Pattison on Oct. 6
Keep Pattison Beautiful presents National Night Out on October 6 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Pattison Area Volunteer Fire Department, 2950 FM 359, Pattison. The free community event offers free food, games and activities for kids and a chance to meet local first responders.

Fulshear’s 2026 National Night Out will be held on Tuesday, October 6 , from 6to 8 p.m., with events at Fulshear City Hall, 6611 W. Meet Fulshear police officers and first responders, explore police and fire vehicles and equipment and meet K-9 Blu and community mascot Sergeant McCann. Free to attend.
Packathon to take place Oct. 8
The 2026 Katy Community Packathon will be held on Thursday, October 8 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Cinco Ranch Church of Christ, 6655 S Mason Rd, Katy. The event is a two-hour, hands-on service opportunity open to anyone ages 5–105, organized by Feed the Hunger. Participants will packmeals for local ministries, at-risk children in the U.S., and children in need worldwide hunger This year’s goal is to pack 70,000 meals. Meals will be distributed to local agencies such as Katy Christian Ministries, Eyes on Me Ministry, Hope Impacts, Power Center Ministry, HISD, and Katy ISD schools, as well as disaster relief efforts. Performing Arts Houston brings The Concert Truck to Peckham Park Oct. 10
A grand piano, a sound system, and a full concert, out of the back of a 16-foot truck. Free. No ticket needed—just show up Mary Jo Peckham Park, 5597 Gardenia Ln., Katy, on October 10 at 1 p.m. Weather updates will be posted on the Performing Arts Houston Facebook page.The 60-minute concert will be held outdoors and in the open. Some seating will be provided but feel free to bring a chair or blanket. Kids welcome; come and go as you need. Houston pianists Chloe and Chelsea de Souza will play. The Concert Truck has tours with partners including the Washington National Opera, Aspen Music Festival, and the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. It plays streets, parks, schools, and festivals—anywhere you can park a truck. Led by Artistic Director Susan Zhang. Presented in Houston by Performing Arts Houston.
