A new Chick-fil-A® restaurant began serving the Katy community on Thursday, February 22, serving the fast-growing northwest quadrant of the area. Chick-fil-A, Inc. selected Amanda Baca as the local Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A Elyson. Chick-fil-A Elyson joins more than 125 other Chick-fil-A restaurants serving the wider Houston market.

Located at 22159 FM 529 Road, Chick-fil-A Elyson will be open for dine-in, carry out and drive-thru from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Guests of Chick-fil-A Elyson can place an order for pickup, dine-in or delivery on the Chick-fil-A® App or online. The new restaurant will also feature Mobile Thru, a fully dedicated lane in the drive-thru where guests can pick up orders placed on the Chick-fil-A App.

Locally Owned and Operated

As full-time, hands-on leaders in their restaurants and communities, Chick-fil-A local Owner-Operators proudly reside in the communities in which they serve. In Katy, Baca will be responsible for all day-to-day activities of the business, including employing approximately 80 full-and part-time Team Members, serving Guests and cultivating relationships with local organizations and businesses.

What began as a junior high school tradition of enjoying Chick-fil-A Chicken Biscuits with her mom blossomed into a career for Baca. Bringing several years of restaurant industry experience with her, Baca began in 2010 as the Executive Director of both Chick-fil-A 59 & Kirby and Chick-fil-A Meyerland Plaza in Houston. Over the next seven years, she learned the ins and outs of the business, met her husband Esteban while working at Chick-fil-A and committed to making opportunities for Team Members. In 2017, Baca was selected as the local Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A Morton Ranch in Katy, which she will continue to operate alongside the new restaurant. With the opening of this new restaurant, Baca and her family are looking forward to expanding their impact in Katy and continuing to develop this next generation of leaders.

“I’ve personally experienced and have seen the opportunities that can come from working here, as my husband, mother and two brothers-in-law also work for Chick-fil-A,” said Baca. “I want to be known for helping my Team Members and leaders grow, learn and advance their careers to experience that same kind of opportunity.”

Caring for the Katy Community

In celebration of the opening, Chick-fil-A, Inc. will donate $25,000 to Feeding America in honor of the new restaurant. These funds will be distributed to partners in the greater Houston area to aid in the fight against hunger.

In addition, Chick-fil-A Elyson is recognizing 100 local heroes making an impact in the Katy area by providing them with free Chick-fil-A entrées for a year.

Baca’s restaurant will plan to participate in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table® program, an initiative that redirects surplus food from the restaurant to local soup kitchens, shelters, food banks and nonprofits in

need. To date, more than 23 million meals have been created from Chick-fil-A Shared Table donations from nearly 2,000 Chick-fil-A restaurants throughout the U.S. and Canada.
