Katy ISD had a huge start to the soccer playoffs on Tuesday, with seven of the eight teams who made the playoffs earning wins and advancing to the area round.

Seven Lakes boys dominated in the first round, beating Fort Bend Bush 7-0, Sam Harpole earned man of the match honors for the Spartans as they advanced to the area round for the eighth straight season. Seven Lakes advances to play Spring Woods, time and date to be determined.

Cinco Ranch also started off the playoffs in dominant fashion, beating Hightower 6-1. Cinco Ranch was led by Andres Riera, who had a hat trick in the win. The Cougars advanced to the area round for the fourth straight season with the win and will take on Jersey Village, time and date to be determined.

Tompkins beat Fort Bend Austin 2-1 behind goals from Andrew Bodington and Tola Fasade. It was a big win for the Falcons as they advanced to the second round for the first time since 2021. Tompkins will play Northbrook in the area round time and date to be determined.

Jordan secured the sweep on the boys side as the fourth seeded Warriors overcame Ridge Point with a 2-1 win over first seeded Ridge Point. Dylan Hout and Santiago Davila scored the two goals for Jordan as they went on to secure their third straight trip to the area round. The Warriors will play Cy-Ridge time and date to be determined. Jordan played Cy-Ridge last year in the second round and beat them 2-1 in extra time in a thrilling game.

On the girls side, three out of the four teams won their matchups.

Seven Lakes joined Jordan as winners by topping George Ranch 1-0. The Spartans got their 12th shutout of the season in the win and advanced to the area round for the fifth consecutive year. They advance to play Cy-Fair, which comes off a 2-0 win over Bellaire in the bi-district round.

Tompkins joined both the Spartans and Warriors as winners after beating Clements 2-1. Rhegan Coombs and Makena Zukeran had the goals for the Falcons as they advanced to the area round for the  eighth straight season.  The Falcons advance to play Stratford in the second round. It's a chance for revenge for Tompkins as Stratford has  ended the Falcons season each of the past three years.

Katy was the lone team from Katy ISD to not win its first round matchup, falling to Ridge Point 3-1. It was a strong fight from Katy, who stayed in the game with the state ranked Panthers the whole way.
