Katy Independent School District Board of Trustees Vice President Rebecca Fox was reelected to the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) Board of Directors for a three-year term, representing Region 4, Position E, the district announced in an October 1 press release.

“Our district is fortunate to have Trustee Fox representing our community at the state level,” Katy ISD Board President Lance Redmon said. “Her longstanding commitment to public education and unwavering dedication to students and families will continue to benefit not only Katy ISD, but school districts across Texas.”

Fox served on the Katy ISD Board of Trustees from 2004–2019 and returned to the board in 2021. During her time as trustee, she helped establish the vision for the Katy ISD Education Foundation and was among its first investors. She is also a graduate of Leadership TASB, earning the designation of Master Trustee, and is an active member of the School Board Advocacy Network. She currently serves more than 95,000 Katy ISD students and their families.

Beyond her service as a trustee, Fox has a long history of volunteering for Katy ISD and her community. She has served on multiple PTA boards, district committees and the Executive Board of Volunteers in Public Schools. She continues to give her time to Keep Encouraging Youth towards Success (KEYS) mentoring, Junior Achievement, Promise-to-Read and other campus programs. Her community involvement includes the National Charity League-Star Chapter, Pregnancy Help Center and RaiseUp Families.

TASB is a nonprofit association established in 1949 to serve local Texas school boards. Today, school board members are the largest group of publicly elected officials in the state, representing districts that serve more than 5.5 million public school students.
