The Katy Tigers gather at the half in Legacy Stadium on October 30, already leading the Taylor Mustangs by 49-0. Katy went on to win the game with a score of 66-0. Earlier in the week, “Dave Campbell’s Texas Football” listed the Tigers as one of the 75 undefeated teams in the state, ranked number 66 in “Most surprising to least.” “Gary Joseph hasn’t had fewer than ten wins in his 22 seasons in Katy,“ the magazine said in its online story. “The Tigers have also won 16 of the last 17 district championships. But even with that sustained dominance, TXHSFB pundits believe this Katy team could be special. The Tigers locked up a District 22-6A Championship in week 4 after beating 5-2 Katy Jordan and 5-3 Katy Tompkins.”
