Wilma was born March 18, 1939 and passed away October 25, 2021.
Born in Denver, Colorado, survived by husband of 62 years, Monte. Resident of Houston – Katy since 1972. Parents: Roy & Ann Gist, Bullhead, Az. Mother of 3 boys: Timothy, wife Vickie; James, wife Ana; Douglas, wife Nancy. Grandchildren: Ashely, Brittany, Cody, Veronica, and Zachary. Brothers: Clayton, wife Shirley; Walter, wife Jeanette. First-cousin Betty Haligas family matriarch of Denver, Colorado, and many loving cousins, nieces and nephews.
School: California North Hollywood Valley College, President Delta Phi Sorority.
Served for 24 years as Alief ISD APA in the Special Education Department.
Some of her many credits include Volunteering for 45 years with Texas SOTX Volunteer/Coach, SOTX Sports Competition Management Instructor, 7 years Texas SOTX Board of Directors. Was vice president Family-owned business - All Microwave Center, Houston. An usher at Parkway Fellowship Church, a member of PALS 55+ ministry for 10 years, as well as a lifetime member of H.L.S.R.
Wilma loved to be outdoors, always movin’ and shakin.’Traveling was one of her favorite hobbies; she loved seeing how other people lived and their world around them. Wilma was VP of Heritage Travel Club, traveling in 37 countries over 12 years. Earlier fond memories also included exciting weekends with her loving family at Lake Livingston Marina Village and tubing the Guadalupe River. Wilma always put “family first.”
